Benner's Farm Respects Your Privacy
At Benner's Farm, we dedicate ourselves to providing you with the best possible services and products. In that effort, we respect and protect the privacy of those who use our website, products and services. Because of our role in handling your financial information, federal law requires us to provide a description of our information collection and sharing practices. You may also have additional privacy rights under state law. This document describes how we handle your personally identifiable information that we obtain.
When you visit our website, or acquire or use our products or services, we may collect the following types of information about you:
- General contact information, such as your name, address, phone, and e-mail address, to fulfill your requested service and to contact you in the future.
- Information to verify your identity, such as your elementary school, in order to protect against unauthorized access to your personal information. We may also verify your identity, or your status as a registered user, by means of a cookie.
- Product and service transaction information during the life of the transaction. We do not store your credit card data.
- Technical information about your computer or browser so that we may provide you with the correct product or service you request, to deliver more relevant offers, or to format e-mail messages to best align with your computer's capabilities.
When we may share the information you provide:
Benner's farm does not share your personally identifiable information with third parties for any reason, except for the following:
For legal reasons
In some cases we may be required to disclose certain information to comply with the law, an investigation, or a legal process, such as a court order, subpoena, search warrant, or law enforcement request.
In case of a sale of our business
Your information may be transferred in connection with a sale, merger, transfer, exchange, or other disposition (whether of assets, stock, or otherwise) of all or a portion of Benner's Farm.
Our Security Safeguards
We use industry-standard physical, electronic, and procedural security safeguards to protect the personally identifiable information that you have provided to us from loss, misuse, or unauthorized alteration. It is also our policy to prohibit employees from accessing your personally identifiable information unless there is a business reason to do so. Whenever we prompt you to transmit sensitive information, such as a credit card number, to us through our website, we support encryption of your data as it is transmitted. At no time will your login information or your financial data be exposed to the Internet in an unencrypted way, even during the login process. We do not store credit card data.
Whenever we work with your private or personal data, we use a 256-bit RSA encryption algorithm as supported by an SSL certificate issued by the Thawte corporation, a division of Verisign.

Usernames and Passwords
Both usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. Your password is stored in a one-way encrypted format on site. It is never sent across the wires in plain text. In fact, no one but you knows or even has access to your password, not even the system adminstrator. Because of that, only you can create your account and its members, change your username or edit your password. If you forget your password, you can ask to restore it through a link on the main registration page. If you forget your username, you can contact us and we help you figure it out.
Use of Cookies
We use session cookies during the ordering process and in the subscriber area of the site. We also use cookies to hold informational text messages during your session. Both of these cookies expire and disappear, along with the small amount of information stored in them, when you exit your browser. To use our online enrollment facility, cookies must be enabled in your browser for our website. [See "What is a cookie?" on this website.]
Former Customers
We treat information concerning our former customers the same way we treat information about our current customers.
